Advocacy for Adults

In adulthood, individuals with disabilities can face barriers to employment, healthcare, housing, accessing public buildings and services, and other key components to an inclusive and meaningful life. We possess expertise in civil rights laws--including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Housing Act (FHA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Mental Health Parity Act, and related state laws--that can help overcome these roadblocks. Additionally, young adults who have moved on to post-secondary education are no longer covered by the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA). We can help them learn to use Section 504 to receive the accommodations they need to successfully complete their education.

Post-Secondary Education and Employment

We follow many of our special education clients after high school. We help them get Section 504 accommodations for post-graduate education and programs to provide life skills and preparation for employment. In some cases, we help them through the process to obtain reasonable accommodations for employment.

Service and Emotional Support Animals in Housing

We assist clients in obtaining the reasonable accommodation of keeping service and emotional support animals in housing under the FHA and the ADA.
